Factors Leading To A Child Friendly School Environment

This study sought to investigate the factors leading to a Child Friendly School Environment in public primary schools in Njoro District of Nakuru County. The specific objectives were: To determine the teaching and learning factors that enhances creation of Child Friendly School Environment in public primary schools; to identify school infrastructural factors that promote creation of Child Friendly School Environment; to examine the role of parental/community involvement in creating Child Friendly School Environment; and to establish the role of leadership and management skills in enhancing child friendly school environment. The study adopted a survey research design and the findings are discussed herein.

Stephen has an M.ed in educational leadership and management from Kenya Methodist University and works with Teachers Service Commission in Kenya. Daniel is a lecturer in educational management and a Ph.D candidate in Egerton Universirty.
